Here you will find the GENERAL BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES that students and instructors must follow, as well as useful information for the development of activities. Please review them before registering for classes.
Non-discrimination
At CAT, no individual or group will be discriminated against based on race, sex, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age.
Accessibility
We believe that folk art should be accessible to anyone interested in learning it and that diversity is always an enriching element in the community. Feel free to contact us to discuss any specific needs—we are committed to providing support to all our students.
Age
Our classes are open to adults and minors. Adults are considered individuals aged 18 and older. We encourage intergenerational interaction, and minors may participate in adult classes if deemed appropriate by the instructor. Due to the unique nature of each course, the minimum age requirement will be set by the instructor. Any course open to intergenerational learning will be clearly indicated in its description. Fees may vary for adults and minors—please ask when registering.
Enrollment Period
Our classes are intentionally small, so early registration is encouraged. Courses that do not meet the minimum number of participants will be canceled two weeks before the start date. However, if you find a class about to begin and want to join, call us—last-minute changes can open up available spots.
Payment
Tuition and materials must be paid in full before the course begins. Payments can be made in cash or via bank transfer to Centro de Artes Tradicionales de Medinaceli.
Waitlist
If a course is full, CAT will open a waitlist. Individuals on the list will be contacted only if a spot becomes available.
Cancellations
If CAT cancels a class, students will receive a full refund. If a student cancels at least two weeks before the course starts, they will receive a refund. Cancellations made within two weeks of the start date will not be refunded. Some courses may have different cancellation policies, which will be specified in the course description.
Privacy Policy
CAT will not share students’ email or postal addresses with third parties. Our mailing list is used exclusively to notify students about new courses and school events. You may request to be removed from the list at any time.

Code of Conduct
- Building a sense of community is central to CAT. Instructors, students, and visitors all contribute to a welcoming and inspiring learning environment. Whether your experience here lasts a day or years, you are an important part of our school. We ask all participants to be open to people from different backgrounds, identities, and ways of life while treating others with respect and kindness.

Completed Projects
Once a project is finished, it becomes the responsibility of the student and must be collected.
Mobile Phones
To respect both students and instructors, phones should be turned off or set to silent once the activity begins. If you need to make a call, please step outside to avoid disturbing others. Students are welcome to photograph their own work, but if you wish to take photos of other students’ work or the group, please ask for permission.
Classroom Hours
For safety reasons, workshop spaces will only be open to students when an instructor is present to supervise.
Safety Rules
- Always wear the required protective gear for each activity (gloves, masks, safety glasses, etc.).
- Be aware of others when using equipment and transporting materials.
- If you see someone engaging in unsafe practices, speak up—everyone will appreciate it.
- Proper Use of Equipment & Tools
- Learn how to use tools correctly before handling them. If unsure, always ask the instructor.
- Turn off and unplug equipment when not in use.
- Notify instructors if any materials are missing, broken, or in poor condition.
- Clean tables after use.
- Sweep the floor.
- If you drink water, coffee, or tea, clean your dishes and return them to the kitchen.
- Recycle and dispose of materials properly.
- Do not leave personal belongings at the school.
Be Considerate
- Classes and students come first. Personal projects, prep work, and informal gatherings should not disrupt active classes.
- Respect other ongoing classes.
- Students, instructors, and visitors should keep mobile phones off.
